HVFC was dispatched for a commercial building fire at 2400 Philmont Ave. at 3:16 pm today. Caller reported smoke from the roof and from the ceiling inside. FM25 and LMPD confirmed smoke upon arrival. Crew from Engine 11 used ground ladders to access the roof of the one story building with a 1 3/4 line while crews inside pulled the ceiling to check for extension. Crew on roof pulled roofing material to expose and extinguish the fire. Aparatus on scene included Squad 8, Engine 8-1, Bryn Athyn Engine 11, 11-1, Willow Grove Ladder 10 and Squad 10, Abington Ladder 100, Rockledge Engine 9-1 for station cover, Station 8 Fire Police, Bryn Athyn Ambulance 355 and Montco Second Alarmers 382.
