EVENT INFORMATION:
On Saturday, May 2nd, the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team will be in Huntingdon Valley to play a double header. The first game will be against Lower Moreland Township Emergency Responders starting at 12:00 PM and the second game will be at 2:00 PM against the Lower Moreland Township School District Faculty and Staff.
Admission is Free.
This is a community event and we invite all of you to bring the family and come out to cheer on our Emergency Responders and support a truly incredible group of Warriors who’s dedication, bravery and sacrifice is an inspiration to our citizens, our community and our country.
ABOUT WWAST:
Mission: To inspire and educate others while enhancing the health and welfare of Wounded Warrior Amputees.
The WWAST is comprised of young, competitive, athletic veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs. The team includes individuals with a variety of amputations — of the arm, above knee, below knee, bilateral below knee, and foot. Some are still in the service, others are attending college thanks to the Post-9/11 GI Bill while others have moved on to new careers. They now travel the country playing abled-bodied teams in competitive, celebrity and exhibition softball games, bringing their special brand of softball, courage and inspiration.
PARKING INFORMATION
– The general public will be able to park for free in the field located at the corner of Buck and Byberry Rds. The entrance to the field will be located off of Buck Road, across from Woodward Dr. We have a Google maps picture that we can add to the website. A free shuttle service will be offered to and from the field.
– Handicapped parking will be offered at Lower Moreland High School.
– The press is invited to park at Lower Moreland High School. Please follow the Auditorium sign to the right of the High School drive for where to park.
*If it rains, the games will be moved inside Lower Moreland High School.
